Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation involving Islamic education teachers, the principal, and students. The findings reveal that the internalization of Aswaja values tawasuth (moderation), tasamuh (tolerance), tawazun (balance), and i’tidal (justice) is integrated into learning, social activities, and ESD-based environmental programs. This implementation not only strengthens students’ moderate, tolerant, environmentally conscious, and fair attitudes but also establishes an Islamic and sustainable school culture. Although some students remain influenced by intolerant narratives on social media, the majority demonstrate positive responses, including active participation in social activities, respect for diversity, and sustainable lifestyle habits. Therefore, the integration of Aswaja and ESD significantly contributes to creating a holistic educational ecosystem that nurtures a generation of moderate, tolerant, environmentally aware, and empathetic individuals.
Nur Milan, Yuliana Nur Mustaghfiroh Copyright (c) 2026 Nur Milan, Yuliana Nur Mustaghfiroh https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://jurnal.maarifnumalang.id/index.php/mjemias/article/view/425 Thu, 25 Jun 2026 00:00:00 +0700 Indonesia Internalisasi Nilai Aswaja An-Nahdliyyah dalam Kerangka Islam Nusantara dan Implementasinya pada Pendidikan Agama Islam https://jurnal.maarifnumalang.id/index.php/mjemias/article/view/422
This study aims to examine the values of Ahlussunnah wal Jama'ah (Aswaja) An-Nahdliyyah from the perspective of Islam Nusantara and to analyze their implementation in Islamic Religious Education (Pendidikan Agama Islam/PAI) as an effort to strengthen religious moderation in Indonesia. The study is motivated by the growing challenges of intolerance, radicalism, and the declining attitude of mutual respect within Indonesia's pluralistic society, highlighting the need to reinforce moderate Islamic values through education. This research employs a qualitative approach using the library research method. Data were analyzed descriptively and analytically through an extensive review of scholarly literature, classical Islamic texts, and relevant documents. This approach provides a comprehensive understanding of the concepts of Aswaja An-Nahdliyyah and their relevance to the development of Islamic education that promotes moderate character formation.

The findings indicate that the fundamental values of Aswaja An-Nahdliyyah, namely tawassuth (moderation), tawazun (balance), i'tidal (justice), tasamuh (tolerance), and ta'awun (mutual cooperation), constitute an integrated value system that shapes Muslims into moderate, inclusive, adaptive individuals who are committed to the common good. These values also reflect the distinctive character of Islam Nusantara, which accommodates local wisdom while remaining faithful to the essential principles of Islam, thereby maintaining its relevance in responding to Indonesia's socio-cultural dynamics. Furthermore, the implementation of Aswaja values in Islamic Religious Education contributes significantly to fostering tolerance, respecting diversity, strengthening social cohesion, cultivating students' moral character, and serving as a preventive strategy against the spread of radicalism and intolerance in educational institutions and society. Therefore, integrating Aswaja values into PAI learning represents a strategic approach to reinforcing religious moderation, promoting harmonious social life, and realizing a peaceful, inclusive Indonesian society grounded in both Islamic and national values.
aminulloh nawawi Copyright (c) 2026 aminulloh nawawi https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://jurnal.maarifnumalang.id/index.php/mjemias/article/view/422 Fri, 26 Jun 2026 00:00:00 +0700 Integrating relational frame theory and Aswaja-based habituation in madrasah education: The way of Insan Kamil transformation https://jurnal.maarifnumalang.id/index.php/mjemias/article/view/405
This study explores the integration of Relational Frame Theory (RFT) with the Aswaja (Ahlussunnah wal Jama’ah) paradigm in the context of madrasah education, focusing on the formation of Insan Kamil- a holistic human being who is balanced in spirit, body, thought, and action. While conventional Islamic education emphasizes the transformation of knowledge and ritual practices. This paper argues that the transformative power of education lies in habituation processes that internalize values through both spiritual practices and extracurricular engagement. By employing the theoretical lens of RFT, which posits that human behavior and meaning-making are built by relational networks of language and symbols. The study concludes that integrating RFT into Aswaja-based habituation provides a robust pedagogical model that equips students to navigate the challenges of the digital era while preserving Islamic values, ultimately fostering graduates who are spiritually grounded, intellectually critical, socially engaged, and future-ready
Rokhim Abdul Copyright (c) 2026 Abdul Rokhim https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://jurnal.maarifnumalang.id/index.php/mjemias/article/view/405 Fri, 26 Jun 2026 00:00:00 +0700
